The West Bengal Public Service Commission is conducting a competitive examination for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-III, under the Food & Supplies Department, Government of West Bengal, 2018.

Vacancies: 957 [Unreserved – 454, SC – 208, ST – 58, OBC(A) – 98, OBC(B) – 69, Ex-Service Men -50 (Unreserved- 40, SC-10), Meritorious Sportsperson- 20 (UR)]

Qualification: Applicants must have passed the Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.

Application Fee: The fee is Rs. 110/- (Rupees one hundred and ten) only, along with a service charge of 1% of the examination fee (minimum Rs. 5/-) for online payment through debit/credit card, or a service charge of Rs. 5/- for Net Banking, or a service charge of Rs. 20/- for payment through a bank counter (offline payment). SC/ST candidates from West Bengal are exempted from paying any fee. BC candidates from West Bengal are required to pay the usual fee as mentioned above. SC/ST/BC candidates from other states are not eligible for fee exemption.

West Bengal Sub Inspector Of School Recruitment 2018


The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts the recruitment for the position of Sub Inspector of Schools in West Bengal. The recruitment process includes eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus details, study materials, and previous year question papers to assist applicants in their preparation. The recruitment is for the West Bengal Subordinate Educational Service under the School Education Department of the Government of West Bengal.





There are a total of 338 vacancies, including 176 unreserved, 74 reserved for SC, 20 for ST, 34 for O.B.C. Category 'A', 24 for O.B.C. Category 'B', and 10 for persons with disabilities.

Candidates must possess a Second Class Honours or Second Class Master's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent with at least 50% marks in the Honours Degree, and a minimum of 55% marks in Madhyamik and 50% marks in Higher Secondary or equivalent from a recognized board/council. Additionally, a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching or Education from a recognized university or equivalent is required. Proficiency in spoken and written Bengali/Nepali, as well as the ability to undertake extensive tours on official duty, are also essential.

Desirable qualifications include teaching experience in schools, proficiency in games and sports, and the ability to organize extra-curricular activities.

The maximum age limit for applicants is 36 years as of January 1, 2018. The application fee is Rs. 160/-, and different convenience fees and charges apply depending on the mode of payment. Certain categories of candidates, such as SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and persons with disabilities (P.W.D.) with a physical disability of 40% and above, are exempted from paying the fee.

Applications can be submitted online only through the Commission's website, and the filling of online applications begins on July 17, 2018, with a closing date of August 6, 2018. Offline payment of fees can be made up to August 7, 2018, at any branch of UBI.
