The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts the recruitment for the position of Sub Inspector of Schools in West Bengal. The recruitment process includes eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus details, study materials, and previous year question papers to assist applicants in their preparation. Additionally, a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching or Education from a recognized university or equivalent is required. Proficiency in spoken and written Bengali/Nepali, as well as the ability to undertake extensive tours on official duty, are also essential.
Desirable qualifications include teaching experience in schools, proficiency in games and sports, and the ability to organize extra-curricular activities.
The maximum age limit for applicants is 36 years as of January 1, 2018. The application fee is Rs. 160/-, and different convenience fees and charges apply depending on the mode of payment. Certain categories of candidates, such as SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and persons with disabilities (P.W.D.) with a physical disability of 40% and above, are exempted from paying the fee.
Applications can be submitted online only through the Commission's website, and the filling of online applications begins on July 17, 2018, with a closing date of August 6, 2018. Offline payment of fees can be made up to August 7, 2018, at any branch of UBI.
The recruitment process includes a written exam consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions, with a time duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. Additionally, there will be an interview conducted for 100 marks, which may include difficult-level questions or a writing task.
The syllabus for the written exam includes 50 questions on Education, 25 questions on Math, and 25 questions on General Studies.
