Bengal School Service Commission
Exam Pattern
- Stage 1 – Written Test
- 60 MCQs, 60 marks, 1 hour.
- Stage 2 – Type Test
(Computer Typing)
- Conducted for candidates
who qualify in the written exam.
- Usually tests typing
speed and accuracy in both English and Bengali.
- Expected speed (as per past
WBSSC clerk recruitments) is around:
- English
typing:
20–30 words per minute
- Bengali
typing:
15–20 words per minute
- Duration is often 10
minutes per language.
- Stage 3 – Interview
- Stage 4 – Document
Verification
This
typing test is qualifying in nature — you must pass it to be considered
for final selection, but its marks might not be added to the written score.
1. Written Examination (MCQ Type) 60 Marks
2. Academic qualification including
professional qualifications 10 Marks
3. Personality Test with typing and computer
proficiency [Personality Test---- 05 Marks + Typing using computer and computer
proficiency--- 25 Marks] (Appearance before the Personality Test Board is
Compulsory) 30 Marks
Stage 1 – Written Test
- Total Questions: 60 (Objective—MCQs)
- Total Marks: 60
- Duration: 60 minutes (1 hour)
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark per question, no
negative marking
The
examination is divided into four equal sections (15 questions each; 15 marks
each):
